Why won't this work?!

I typed this in several times to complete the 6-letter word in Word Warp and it wouldn't take it.  Someone should contact them and let them know it's a word.  Very frustrating...

Are we famous now?

I saw this car driving on the freeway and just new he must have heard of Mercenaries of the Revolution and had to have the plate...

FUN!!!

It's really truly amazing to us the number of games that exist out in the industry and even the big stores probably only carry about a percent of them.  A bit frustrating as game designers thinking about getting our games on their shelves.  Most of what we come across are people like us with games they design and sell from there websites and try to get them into distribution and onto retail shelves.
One of the greatest things about designing games is the information we come across while doing research.  Having stated this, it seemed like a good idea to pass some of this information on to readers of our blog and one of the sites that we are consistently coming across is a boardgame review site by Scott Nicholson who is a library scientist and professor, but is also a game hobbyist and has his own site for sharing games that he has been given by funagaingames.com.  His site is http://www.boardgameswithscott.com/ and he does a really good job of explaining games via videos and we hope that you might find some usefulness to his site and maybe even find a game that you might be motivated to buy.
Unfortunately, he has stopped really reviewing games as of the beginning of the year and really only did family games and not wargames but interesting nonetheless.
A video review I liked:

Playtesting Games for Prodigy Game Works

We're planning playtesting dates and would like to understand when people would be willing and available to play.  We obviously have Generals to a point where people are playing it with little more help than just reading the rules (something that needs to be revisited but not a priority since we have postponed publishing it) and Mercenaries just needs some more game play time to settle the rules, but it's mostly complete as well.  I've been having people play it with some revised 'John' rules and I think that is the direction that I will be taking the documentation.
We also have a 3rd game that we are prototyping so we can begin some play time with it as well.  The best way we can think of explaining the concept of this game is Monopoly on Steroids.
The big thing with all of this is we need players.  If you are interested in playtesting any of the above games for us we are eager to know.  We have started a playtest distribution list and if you would like to be added for future contact you can either go to ProdigyGameWorks.com and contact us via the contact tab or just email us at JBiggs@ProdigyGameWorks.com.
We are planning for some game play at John's house on the 15th of January from 10am to whenever people would like to stay and will have some refreshments available.  Hope to see a lot of people there and you can just leave a comment to this post to let us know if you will be coming.

Mercenaries is coming...

We feel like we are really starting to get close with Mercenaries and need some significant playing time to hammer out the last of the details for the rules.  We're looking to have some play time next Saturday at my house and we will likely have playtesting for Generals and a newer game as well.  I hope to have 2 prototype sets of Mercenaries to play for those who may want to join us since it's a much quicker game to play.
With that news, as we have shared previously, Mark has sent us an update on the art that he has in progress and we would like to share that with followers as well.  We hope you are as impressed as we are with it:
For those who have playtested Generals for us, you may recognize some of the art on the board.  For those who are not you can look at previous posts or wait for Generals to get published in the future to see the references.  It's kind of funny to think that when it does get published that people will think we took art from Mercenaries and incorporated it into Generals when in fact it was the other way around.

Mercenaries Introduction

"Though officially denied, in desperate need to turn the tide of war, rogue mercenary teams are called upon to finish the job that official armed forces couldn't."
Thoughts on a better introductory line ofr Mercenaries of the Revolution?

New Game

Another game design has sprung up recently and we are trying to develop a prototype for playing a rough draft.  Something we are requesting help with is country names.  we are asking those who are willing to provide fictional names that we might be able to leverage at least temporarily to being playing the game.
Please leave comments with anything you have...
